• Do not eat or drink anything, including water, hard candy, or chewing gum after midnight the day of your procedure, unless otherwise directed.
  • If you have a latex allergy, or if you think you may be pregnant, please call the surgical center as soon as possible at (303) 825-3888 and ask to speak to a Pre-operative nurse.
  • If you take medications on a regular basis, contact your physician/surgeon for guidance regarding which medications you should and/or should not take the day of your procedure.
  • Bring inhalers with you if you have asthma or emphysema.
  • If you take insulin, bring bottle of insulin and syringes with you.
  • Do not take any medications containing aspirin, vitamin E, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, herbs, or weight loss products for at least seven (7) days prior to the procedure and the day following your procedure. If you have taken any of these, please inform your physician/surgeon as soon as possible.
  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing, including socks. A surgical facility is always kept at a cooler temperature.
  • Valuables - including jewelry, wigs and contact lenses should be left at home. We cannot be responsible for their safety. Please bring your house keys, if appropriate. DO BRING a government issued photo ID (minors do not need ID, but primary insured party does need to bring theirs), your insurance card (if appropriate), your form of payment (if required), and a copy of your Advanced Directive if you have one.
  • Cosmetics should be minimal or not worn at all.
  • Consent forms - your signature will be required in accordance to your particular procedure. If you have an Advanced Directive and it indicates a DNR, please contact the facility as soon as possible at (303) 825-3888 and ask to speak to a Pre-operative nurse.
  • A responsible adult must accompany you to the surgical center and be available to, both, drive you home and stay with you through the night. Parents of children absolutely cannot leave while their child (minor) is at the facility - they must remain in the waiting area.
  • If you experience any health changes between your most recent visit to your physician and the day of your procedure, notify your physician. Please report even minor changes, to include elevated temperature, cough or cold.
  • Call the physician/surgeon's office on the day prior to your procedure to confirm your arrival time, if you do not have already have this information. Patients must arrive 1-1/2 hours prior to their scheduled surgery time.
